Sunlight Moon is from a short story I wrote. “Sun hide in the box, not to shine, waiting for Moon to shine beautifully.” The story tells about sun that loved moon too much, and let moon shine on daytime but finally realise moon cannot shine without the sunlight. From this story, I came up with the idea that ‘Loving someone else comes after loving self.’ This installation work shows the thesis by the sun, loving self; I, loved self; and the moon, outer world. The sun is on the eyeball, which means world of myself. In front of the sun, the box or 'I' can stand. Viewers will see the artwork through the moon. centre of the moon is polarising film. When 'I' is placed, viewers can see the sun shining, hugging 'I'. On the other hand, when the box is placed, as the box is also made of polarising film, viewers cannot see the sun shining. Shining of the sun refers to self-love. By watching through the film, viewers are participating in artwork as outer world and experiencing the thesis.
